Cool Stuff for Quilters

Piecing Patterns - 5 Pointed Star Block

I love star piecing patterns and I especially love the 5 Pointed Star piecing pattern! If you have ever pieced a 5 Pointed Star, you know that it is NOT easy and it makes a funky shaped block! But that has changed!!

I worked with the 5 Pointed Star for quite a while and I have FINALLY made the 5 Pointed Star MUCH EASIER to piece, and, there are NO "Y" seams and it forms a SQUARE BLOCK!!!

My instructions include the 12 inch, the 9 inch AND the 6 inch 5 Pointed Star Block pattern, step-by-step photo illustrated piecing instructions AND a table runner pattern!

12 inch, 5 Pointed Star

9 inch, 5 Pointed Star

6 inch, 5 Pointed Star

Yes, these stars all look the same, but their sizes are different. When finished, these stars form SQUARE blocks, which can be inserted into almost any quilt pattern that has a 12, 9, or 6 inch star already in it!

Also included is a table runner pattern. This table runner is easy to piece and the version at the right uses the 12 inch, 5 Pointed Star Blocks. There is also a version (not pictured) that uses both the 12 and 6 inch, 5 Pointed Star Blocks.

You can choose to have a PDF file of this pattern sent to you as an email attachment or you can have a hard copy of the pattern sent to you via the USPS.

To create the 5 Pointed Star Block you need to make piecing templates. You can make your own templates from the full size patterns that are included.

Or, if you would prefer, the pattern pieces have already been printed on durable plastic material, ready for you to cut out and begin using. Note - the plastic pattern pieces are sent via USPS only.
