In this class students will learn the basics of turning the quilt – spacing borders and using coordinating corner patterns. Students will also learn how to use block motif patterns. The basics of Stitch-in-the-Ditch will also be covered and you will also learn how to use edge to edge (pantograph) patterns. If time allows, we will have a brief overview and demonstration on working with templates.
Pantograph patterns are a mainstay of the machine quilter. But so many machine quilters make stitching pantograph patterns so much harder than it actually is!
In this class Cindy will shows you her "No Measure, No Math" method of pantograph placement. This method will give you all over "texture" to your quilting, not "stripes" of patterns across your quilt!
Free hand designs are fun and easy to do and will give your quilting a very “custom” look. In this class you will learn work on a quilting sampler using over 20 different free hand patterns, including feathers and feather variations, different stippling and fill-in patterns, and many more designs. We will also discuss and create “overall” free hand patterns.
The basis of this class is the book Free Hand Sampler by Cindy Roth. Each person attending this class receives a copy of this book and laminated drawing sheets.
