The following instructions are excerpts from the Triple Cable Template Instruction Manual

Basic or "Amish" Style Triple Cable Border

Divide, then draw a line to divide the border in half lengthwise. Label as the Border Center Line.

Divide, then draw a line to divide the border in half widthwise. Label as the Middle of the Border.

Starting at the Middle of Border line, place the Longarm University® 1½ Stencil Grid template on the drawn middle and center lines and begin marking grids on the border of the quilt. Work from the Middle of the Border Line to the raw edges of the quilt.

Begin numbering the vertical drawn grid lines, beginning at the Middle of the Border line. The Middle of the Border line is #1 and you will number from 1—4 towards the right raw edge of the quilt and then 4—1 from the middle to the left edge of the quilt. See illustration below.

Stitching Line #1—Turn the main Triple Cable Template so that the Inner and Outer Curved edge of the template is AWAY from you. Starting at the left raw edge of the border, place etched Line #1 on the Inner and Outer Curve edge of the main Triple Cable Template on one of the drawn lines #1. Line up the center lines and the grid lines and begin stitching across the border. See the illustration below. Note: Only lines #1 will be labeled and the darkest line indicates the line just stitched.

Congratulations! You have just completed the Triple Cable pattern across the top border of your quilt. Doesn’t it look great! Now you have three more borders to complete the quilt.

Bottom Border—complete in exactly the same stitching sequence as the top border.

Turn the Quilt following the instructions on page 10 of the Triple Cable Template instruction manual.

Quilt the side border (now at the top and the bottom of the quilt which has been re-applied to the quilting machine) using the same stitching sequence as in the top border, choosing where you want the side border stitching to end. See page 11 of the Triple Cable Template instruction manual.
